| Washington
County now worth almost one billion dollars !!
On the Move
According to
the latest data from the office of the Washington County
Property Appraiser, the taxable value of the real estate
in Washington County is $ 996,488,491.00, just a tad shy
of One Billion Dollars.
That is a $355,322,334.00 increase over fiscal 2005, representing
an increase of 55.42 percent.
The previous year the increase was $ 89,540,627.00, an increase
of 16.23 percent.
All in all the taxable value of Washington County has doubled
since fiscal 2002, and , accordingly, so has the tax collected
by both the Washington County Board of County Commissioners
and the Washington County School District.
Even with the proposed reduced millage of 1.0 mils by the
County Commission, they will receive $2,379,074 tax dollars
more than last year, and almost $3 million more than in
2004. The School District has reduced their millage by 0.50
mils, a change for the better, but not likely to remain
that way, as the school district plans to get into school
facilities improvements shortly.
