A sign of continuing development
in Sunny Hills was shown Thursday, April 27 when it was
announced at the Washington County Board of County Commissioners
that 7,200 lots were recently sold for $53 million to a
major California-based developer. The developer has several
projects in Florida.
Sections 12, 13, 14 and 15
were sold to National Recreational Properties, Inc., of
Irvine, CA. Internet research showed that the firm is well
regarded and has a track record of aggressive development.
Sunny Hills MSBU Coordinator Glen Zanetic told the Board
that “Development is the only way they get their money
back.” He said there would be no “flipping”
and that NRP understands the value of the property. He said
that property values have increased wherever the firm has
gone, and the Sunny Hills property would be marketed to
national builders and to individual property owners.
According to information from
http:///press.arivenet.com, “National Recreational
Properties, Inc. is a national promoter and marketer of
superior real estate sub-divisions across the country. Known
for their exceptional customer service and granting free
weekend trips to the property sites so customers can choose
their home sites personally, the company also provides financial
services.
“Headquartered in Irvine,
California, the company promotes and markets the following
sub-divisions: North Port and Port Charlotte in Florida,
Lake Shastina in California, Cal Pines and Cal City in California,
Ocean Shores in Washington, Lehigh in Florida.”
The Holiday Lakes development
in Arkansas is also a National Recreational Properties development.
Actor Erik Estrada from the TV series “Chips”
is the firm’s national spokesman.
According to the Better Business
Bureau National Recreational Properties, Inc. meets all
BBBOnLine Reliability participation and Better Business
Bureau membership standards and is authorized to display
the BBBOnLine Reliability seal. The firm is a member of
the BBB.
Zanetic said that about $1.5
million would be spent marketing Sunny Hills.
“We’re getting more builders in here that are
taking the view that it’s serious here,” Zanitec
said. “We’re ready to double in size."
“We continue to look
at growth like that. Turner (a major national contractor)
has 21 projects,” and other builders are also very
active, he said.
